When you enter in editing mode in the game engine platform some of the palettes change.

In the map viewer all PINs are visible but the roll over doesn't work.

 

 

Palette CONTROL

Allows you zoom in and out and move right and left, up and down.

You can move the map by dragging on it but not dropping it until you reach the point you want.

If you click in any point of the map the engine makes a 100% zooming to the point.

Palette INFO

The Palette gives you the UTM coordinates (assuming the map is properly geo referenced) this data are the two first lines. When you move the map or your position in the map this info change.

If you want to go to an specific coordinate introduce the data in the boxes push go and a pointer will show you the position on the map.
If you push the arrow below the second line you save this date for future retrieval of the position just by pushing the go button.

Palette PINS

This palette is shown only in editing mode and contains the different PINs that can be used in editing mode.

The amount of PINs is given by the amount of objects that need to be identified in the territory.

To locate a PIn on the map just select the kind and drag and drop it in the specific point.

 

A soon you drop it opens a new palette for inserting data

Fields are:

Number: To identify the PIN

TITLE: Name of the PIN, this name is the one who appears in the palette list and in the PIN when this displayed. Maximum 255 characters but only 30 visible.

PIN: Correspond to a number that identify the kind of PIN (colour) you should not change it, if you change it the PIN can disappear.

 

LINK: You can link to internal documents existing in the platform or to an external site.

In the case of use of an external URL, codify it like (http://....)

If click in the File button the File palette is open you can select any of the objects uploaded to the platform, videos, audio, photo, etc.

If select a complete folder instead of single document in the platform is ok but in the DESK it will not work because just links to single objects are accepted.

In the case to select to link to a map or a scenarios the text link should look like this:

../maps/index.php?id=1&xutm=[[]]&yutm=[[]]

where the symbols [[]]] can be changed by UTM coordinates or pixel dimensions to jump directly to a position on the map.

for e.g.

../maps/index.php?id=1&xutm=144321&yutm=4456725

To save the the information push the save button, if you click cancel or delete the Pin is deleted.

 

If you want to make a link the published Text just click on Text and the list will be displayed.

To modify any PIN information click on the PIN the info palette will open then change the data and save the changes.

If you click on delete the PIN is deleted.

If you click in cancel no changes are made.

If you want to move the PIN position drag and drop over the map and the info palette will open. To fix the new position click on save.

 

Palette ROUTES

From this palette you can create, modify or delete the routes. The routes are displayed in text mode.

By default the palette is ready to create a new route. To modify a an existing route click on its name in the list, it will show up in the screen for its modification.

Double check always if you are in the right route in other to avoid to modify a route.

Line values: These control modify:

1. The thickness of the line move it up and down.
2. The transparency of the line move it up and down.
3. The line colour click on colour and select your color choice.

 

The values of the line affect all lines within the same route.

Draw button - single line.
Use this tool to draw single lines click on it to activate it and to stop drawing. Select the starting and end point and draw the line.

Pulse the space bar to move across the map without drawing, to continue drawing release the space bar.

 

Draw button - continuous line.
Click to activate the button un click to stop drawing.

Choose where to start the line and after mark the next points to draw a continuous line.

You can repeat this process and create multiple continuous lines.

Pulse the space bar to move across the map without drawing, to continue drawing release the space bar.

Draw button - back one step.

If while drawing you make a mistake push this button, push as many time you need to go back step by step.

Draw button - step forward.
Do the opposite of back one step.

Draw button - starting point.
Allows you to get back making the route empty, with the step forward you can recuperate the draw.

Draw button - save.
To save a route or the modification of the route.

 

Draw button - new route.
Allows to clean the memory and start a new empty route. This route will not be stored until is saved.

 

Route name field.
The name you put here is the name that will be displayed in the routes list.

IMPORTANT.

If you are modifying a route and you delete the name when you save it the route will be deleted.


This is the routes list that have been saved, click over them if you want to modify it. To create a new route click on new route button.
